These nuts are fantastic for parties, afternoon snacks and game day eats.

Did you know that more than 99% of the walnuts in U.S. are grown in the fertile soils of California’s Central Valley. Internationally, California walnuts supply three-quarters of the world’s walnut trade. Pretty amazing!

Spiced walnuts

With only 6 ingredients added to season the California walnuts, the nuts still shine through in flavor.

I mixed up some of my favorite ingredients like soy sauce, Tabasco, curry powder and butter to coat the walnut before toasting in the oven.  The aroma that fills the kitchen is wonderful.

    1. I guess it all depends on the size of the walnuts Kathleen. Better to be less time and have to go longer than burning them!

  1. 5 stars
I did use parchment paper but I’m sure it’ll be ok!!! These remind of an old recipes my grandma used to use!!!

  2. I didn’t see any comment on using olive oil instead of butter. Hopefully they would still be good!

    1. I would try using a beaten egg white instead, but as I’ve yet to try it that way I am not sure how they will turn out. You just need something to get the spices to cling to the walnuts. Let me know and I will update the recipe card with the information. 🙂

    1. Not sure how to answer that one Emilie. I put them out and they’re gone in a short time, about an hour. Keep any leftover in an airtight container like any other nut.

      1. YES!!! the house smells amazing!! And the snacks are all gone …I will be making more. Thank you!
