This past Memorial Day weekend we grilled it up big time and that’s where these Ball Park Park’s Finest Hot Dogs with Sriracha Catsup and all the Fixings happened.
See for this post I’ve partnered up with Ball Park and they were kind enough to ship me some of their new frankfurters – Ball Park Park’s Finest. These uncured beef frankfurters have NO artificial preservatives and NO nitrates or nitrites added. These guys are made with 100% beef, too. Pretty amazing, right?
The Ball Park Park’s Finest product line launched nationally in January 2014, and most recently expanded to include two new bold varieties – Slow Cooked Chili and Jalapeno Cheddar, which are incredible. I received their Signature Seasoned, the Jalapeño Cheddar and my favorite, the Slow Cooked Chili Dog. They come 7 to a package and I figured I’d take these up a notch when grilling.
I love food that has little nooks and crannies, where the sauce or condiments gets nestled in and the edges get all crispy and caramelized. So for these I decided to skewer them first so they wouldn’t curl up and with a sharp knife cut diagonal down to the skewer on 2 sides of the hot dogs. So as these bad boys grilled, the edges would open up and get that BBQ char and flavor. It only took 3 minutes per side and did these come out great!

I made up a few condiments like a Sriracha Catsup blend, used some different mustards, chopped sweet red onions instead of the usual white and then there was the bun.
I needed a large, sesame bun, one where I could cut the top. I didn’t want to use those hot dog buns you find already sliced down the middle lengthwise. Nope, no bueno. So I cut a V on top lengthwise, removed the top portion and that way the hot dogs would be nestled in the bun. But only after they had been buttered, grilled a crispy brown and then I put shredded sharp cheddar on top.
These hot dogs needed a little elevation in presentation, these are not your average hot dog! They are superbly seasoned, have a great snap when you bite into them and are super juicy. These are Ball Park – Park’s Finest!
